On February 14, 2008, Circuit Judge
James Redford refused to allow out-of-district residents,
hired by activist groups, to collect signatures for the
recall petition against Rep. Robert Dean, D-75th. It is
against Michigan state law for out-of-district residents to
collection signatures on recall petitions.
The organizers of the campaign
against Rep. Dean announced they will appeal Judge Redford's
ruling.
